Arizona Lawmaker Explains Need For Birth Certificate Laws

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009I’m so glad Jon Stewart is alive and doing what he does. This 6 min segment is one of his finest moments and I had to share it with you. Stewart does a great job at highlighting the partisan bs that the GOP is pushing right now. I really like how he compares what is happening now to how this would have been responded to under the bush administration! To question the government under bush (purposely left lower case) you would be labeled an evil-doer or a terrorist. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why both sides are so at each other’s throats all the time but it really does not help, in any way, the path that our country is heading. I could devote this entire site to partisan bs, but for all of our sake, I will not. I’ll leave that to our fabulous news industry.
Health Insurance… for all
Tuesday, April 7th, 2009Right now, we stand at a crucial point in American history. President Obama’s administration is pushing to open up health insurance for everybody, not just those who can afford it. As a civilized and advanced nation, we still can’t even take care of ourselves. Many less fortunate countries have been taking care of their citizens by providing health care to all, regardless of status or wealth. We are on the precipice of achieving something so great.
Not everybody sees it this way which is OK. But to those who oppose, I recommend looking at what we have now and asking themselves is what we have now really worth fighting for? A monthly prescription that costs over $300? An ambulance ride that costs $1500? Surely anything is better than what we have now. Please recognize this chance as a nation to provide a basic human right to affordable health care and support this administration’s attempt to provide this inalienable right.
Partisan preference should be laid aside for this important moment in history.
Thank you for listening.
